About Me

My name is Vern Soehner. I am an experienced Web Designer, Software Administrator, Unix Administrator and Visual Basic Programmer. I have been in the programming business for over 25 years with many languages,
environments and operating systems.

I maintained an intranet web site and a public internet web site for a large corporation. I also wrote many programs and scripts to monitor, administrate, update, backup and install many applications and software products. The languages I used were Visual Basic, Unix Scripting, VBScript, Jscript and Java. The software I used was Dreamweaver, Webridge, Webtrends, Remedy Help Desk, Commvault Backup, Paymentplus Credit Card Processor, Servers Alive Monitor, Dnews Usenet Server, OnTime Scheduler, SAP, Lotus Notes and Checkpoint Firewall.

Previous to that I wrote many programs and systems for large corporations to perform Physical Inventories, Cost Accounting, Manufacturing MRP and Sales Analysis. This was in Cobol on a large Honeywell GCOS8 System.

Previous to that I was a System Manager of a Digital VAX 11/780 for a large corporation writing scripts, procedures and backups using Digital Command Language and Cobol.
